Tree Audio Roots Jr. 16 channel, Side Car Console (2 Unit Pair)

These are two of a kind, vacuum tube side cars designed and custom built by Steve Firlotte (of Inward Connections) and Ian Gardiner (of Boutique Audio and Design) at Tree Audio.

Purchased with very little hours from prestigious studios. Custom VU's and other customization virtually making it close to GEN II. (more info on the way)

The Roots Jr. is a non bussing version of The Roots console. It has 8 full-featured channel strips. Excluding the stereo buss and at the sends, the exact channels are the same as the Roots console. The Roots Jr. replaces Our very successful 820 brown sidecar, but with more features on each channel.

The external power supply is the same as the Roots console.

It is a true high voltage regulated tube power supply for the tube section of the channel strips. Tube complements are (8) 6L6 tubes and (2) 12AX7 control tube.

Absolute magic. One of the finest pieces of I gear ever created!

Smoke free, temperature controlled studio.

NOTES
The 16 channels all tube: DI, mic pre, line in, EQ, opto limiter, 48v phantom

Key Differences
GEN I VS GEN 2

GEN II was introduced in 2017. The main differences between the Tree Audio Roots Gen I and Gen II models are the addition of 500 series slots, balanced inserts on every channel and the stereo bus, and expanded functionality in the EQ and gain sections

In essence, the Gen II was introduced to provide greater flexibility and integration options for modern studios, functioning as a more full-featured console by incorporating features that allow for easy expansion with external processors and improved routing capabilities

In January 2017 ...

"Looks to me like the new features are:
1. 2 x additional Auxes,
2. A insert (finally!)
3. Mic pre gain,
4. Hi pass filter,
5. Impedance selector
6. Direct out with level control...,"
