The Cooke Varo-Panchro 14-42mm T3.1 is an incredibly obscure, ultra-rare vintage Super35 cinema zoom lens. Because of its scarcity, it very rarely crosses public auction blocks or open used-equipment marketplaces.

Based on current vintage cinema market valuations, a Cooke Varo-Panchro 14-42mm T3.1 in excellent, shootable condition is valued between $20,000 and $30,000 USD.

Factors Driving Its Value

• The Scarcity: While its sister lens, the Cooke Varo-Panchro 20-60mm T3.1 (released in 1981), is relatively well-known and fetches around $23,000 to $26,000 on the used market, the wide-angle 14-42mm variant is significantly harder to find.
