KEY FEATURES:

The Moviecam SL is primarily designed to use native 400' (120m) magazines, but it is fully compatible with Moviecam Compact 1000' (300m) magazines when used with a specific SL Magazine Adapter. 

The 1000' magazines utilized with the Moviecam SL are typically the Lightweight Displacement versions originally created for the Moviecam Compact system. 

• Adaptation Requirement: To mount a 1000' magazine onto a Moviecam SL body, you must use an SL to Compact Magazine Adapter. This adapter allows the SL to accept the larger magazines for longer run times, although it increases the camera's overall profile.
• Operating Speed: When using Compact 1000' magazines with the SL and a Moviespeed control box, the camera can achieve speeds of 2–50 fps forward and 12–32 fps reverse.
• Construction: These magazines are often noted for their carbon fiber construction, making them significantly lighter than comparable 1000' magazines from other systems, such as the Arricam.

Features:

• • Displacement Style: Active displacement design where the film takes up "emulsion in".
  • Digital Memory: Includes built-in heaters and torque motors, along with electronic/mechanical footage counters.
  • Heaters: Thermostatically controlled heaters allow operation in temperatures below 

Standard Magazine Options

While the 1000' magazine provides maximum film capacity, the SL system is more commonly configured with smaller, native mags for its signature lightweight handheld or Steadicam use: 

• 400' SL Magazine: The standard 120m displacement style magazine.
• 400' SL Steadicam Magazine: A lightweight vertical displacement version designed specifically for balance on Steadicam rigs.
